Strengthens enamel and helps prevent tooth decay over time. Specialty fluoride can be used to stop cavities in their tracks.

Fillings (Tooth-Colored)

Restores teeth affected by cavities to prevent further damage.

Crowns

Protective coverings used to strengthen and restore damaged baby teeth.

Pulpotomies

(Baby tooth root canals) — preserves the natural tooth when deeper decay is present. Stops pain and infection.

Extractions

Safe removal of teeth when necessary for health or comfort.

Emergency & Pain Care

Immediate treatment for infection, swelling, or discomfort to help students return to learning and feeling well

How It Works

Simple, Seamless, and School-Friendly

Our program is designed to make receiving dental care easy for schools, families, and students. We handle all clinical work, scheduling, equipment, and communication, while the school simply helps distribute and collect sign-up forms and gather students during a day of on-site service

We provide sign-up forms for every student.
School sends forms home and collects the completed ones.
The forms are returned to us using a pre-paid envelope.
We schedule regular, ongoing visits to your school.
Students visit the mobile clinic and return directly to class afterward.

FAQ & Helpful Information

How much will this cost the school/district?

Nothing! The CHMD van sets itself up on the site and is self-sufficient. Power is supplied by an on-board generator. Water comes from an integrated tank and drainage system. Internet access is obtained through a mounted Starlink satellite.

What exactly is a mobile dental clinic?

The clinic was built from the ground-up as a dental office inside of a 39’ commercial grade RV. Inside, it looks just like a typical dental office. It is fully self-contained, drivable, and can function without any additional inputs from the school.

How are liability matters handled?

Once the children step onto the van, CHMD assumes liability until they step off the vehicle. Verification of comprehensive insurance coverage (Certificate of Liability) is available upon request.

Will the visit create extra work for the staff?

Partnering with CHMD will add minimal work for school staff. We request assistance in distributing and collecting the sign-up forms to parents/guardians in advance of the visit and returning them to us. To facilitate that, we will mail you enough sign-up forms for all of the students in the school, plus some extras, as well as a pre-paid envelope to send filled-out sign-up forms back to us. We also appreciate assistance with locating the children in the school on the day of the mobile clinic’s visit. Optionally, the school or district may send out texts, emails, automated phone calls, etc. to parents to help with program outreach. This is very helpful in getting the word out, but if it is too burdensome, it is not required. Aside from those few items, the CHMD staff takes care of all other duties.

What if the child already has a local dentist?

If the child already has a dentist and they are routinely visiting them, we encourage the parent/guardian to stay with that dentist for their child’s care. CHMD is primarily designed for children who do NOT have a dentist that is seen on a regular basis.

Who gives permission for the child to be seen?

The parent/guardian of the child must complete and sign a form giving permission for treatment to occur. Without a signed, completed form, a child cannot be seen by CHMD. What about our children/parents that speak Spanish?

CHMD forms, letters, and literature are available in English and Spanish. In addition, there are personnel at our offices and in the field who are fluent in Spanish to assist parents/children in their native language.

Who pays for the treatment?

If the child is covered by Medicaid, CHP+, or private insurance, treatment provided is at no cost. There is also the option to pay in cash. In cash payment instances, the parent/guardian should contact CHMD in advance to discuss cost of treatment.
